HENDERSONVILLE — Boyce Enloe, 81, of Hendersonville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Pardee Hospital. A native and life long resident of Henderson County, he was born on Jan. 29, 1931, to the late Willie J. Enloe and Mary Elsie Nesbitt Enloe.
He graduated from Edneyville High School and attended North Carolina State University before going on to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. Upon his arrival home from Korea, he began his career as a farmer with his father. He then went on to specialize in apples, forming a partnership that created North State Orchards.
He was a lifetime honorary member and past president of the North Carolina Apple Crowers Association and a lifetime member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Pardee Hospital and Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation for all of there care and kindness of the past few years.
He is survived by his two sons, Tony Enloe and his wife, Kandi, of Bat Cave, Mack Enloe and his wife, Penny, of Hendersonville; his three grandchildren, Trey Enloe, of Inman, S.C., Brittany Wright and her husband, Levi, of Hendersonville, Jamie Stanley, of Chapel Hill; one great-grandchild, Bryce Wright, of Hendersonville; his sister, Virginia Ann Lancaster and her husband, Robert, of Hendersonville; his brother, William Enloe and his wife, Elizabeth, of Hendersonville, and his beloved companion, George.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Bryan Melton and the Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the funeral home.
