FLAT ROCK – Grace Justus Thompson age 80 of Flat Rock died Monday, December 31, 2012 at her home. She was born March 18, 1932 in Flat Rock to the late Burgin McKinnley Justus and Mattie Stepp. She was the wife of the late Rev. George F. Thompson.
She was a Pastor’s wife for 35 years, worked at Autumn Care in Saluda for 13 years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and friends.
She is survived by a daughter Wanda Thompson Mortensen and husband Marc of Miami, Fl., a son George Franklin Thompson, Jr and wife Cathy of Lancaster, PA, a brother Sonny Justus of Saluda, a sister-in-law Mildred Thompson Skelton of Saluda, grandchildren; Lance Robert Thompson and wife Heidi of Albuquerque, NM, Michelle Mortensen Havron and husband Will of Oklahoma City, OK, Marcus Mortensen and wife Lydia of Miami, FL., Micah Mortensen of Miami, FL., David Thompson, Jr. and Jessica Perez both of Port St. Lucie, FL. and Matthew Leonard and Erik Leonard both of Lancaster, PA., great- grandchildren; Harper Grace Havron, Julia Addyson Mortensen and Alden Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son David Ray Thompson, sisters. Lillian Levi, Ruby Hinson, Inez Young, Ruanne Gordon, Frances Step, Katherine Goforth, brothers, Bud Justus, Eugene Justus ans James (Toby) Justus.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 9:30 AM in Saluda City Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church . Rev. Jeff Hawkey, Rev. Henry Vegter, Rev. Marc Mortensen and Rev. Marcus Mortensen will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
