HENDERSON COUNTY — What a shouting happy meeting when our dear Mama entered her eternal rest with her Savior, husband, mom and dad!! Pauline Allison Maybin, 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Golden Living Health Care Center. She was a homemaker and a devout Christian, very dedicated to the Lord’s work at church until her health began to decline. A Sunday School teacher and song director at Maple Hill Baptist church for many years, she will always be remembered for writing ‘read this’ all through her bible and on every article she thought was interesting.
She was a native of Henderson County, the daughter of the late Gurley G. and Cindy Ward Levi. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, the Rev. L.V. Allison who died in 1984; son-in-law, Troy Sizemore, and brother, Oral Levi.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Maybin; five children, Lois Sizemore, of Fruitland, Evelyn (Kenneth) Sizemore, of Mountain Home, Ruth (Dewey) Jackson, of Flat Rock, Ted (Beverly) Allison, of Hendersonville, Leon (Cindy) Allison, of Zirconia; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert L. Levi and Leroy Levi, and two sisters Ruby Heatherly and Geneva Gordon, all of Henderson County and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Thos. Shepherd & Son’s Church Street Chapel with the Rev. James Maybin and the Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Garden of Memories (formerly Pisgah Gardens). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Manuel and Bryan Sizemore, Brandon Jackson, Keith, Kelly, Robbie, Brad Allison and Rick Hodge.
Mama will always be remembered for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She loved working with her hands and could do more work in the soil than her three daughters. Mama we are all sending you a big bouquet of flowers for your journey, today heaven gained a dear saint.
Our thanks to Golden Living Health Care Center and Hospice for the care given to her.
