HENDERSONVILLE — Mary King Thompson, 83, of Hendersonville, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at her residence. She was born June 10, 1929, in Henderson County to the late Samuel Lee and Alma King Pace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manning Thompson, in 2001.
She worked for many years at Young’s Shoe Store on Main Street until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing and loved her many pets.
She is survived by her son, Paul M. Thompson and his wife Lee; her daughter, Beverly T. Hawkins and her husband Neal; her brother, William King; three grandchildren, Amy T. Ledbetter, Aaron M. Thompson, and Lisa Hawkins Guyton, and four great-grandchildren; Jennie Ewald, and Cameron, Colby, and Landon Ledbetter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Henderson County Council on Aging for Meals on Wheels, 213 South Church St., Hendersonville, NC 28792.
Internment will be private.
