J. Charles Hill, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was a native of Henderson County and the son of the late James Machampton and Margaret Elizabeth Hill. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his two children, Marietta Hoots Hill as well as three brothers Joe, Jerry and Max Hill.
He attended Edneyville High School and was a forklift operator for Cranston Print Works for over 40 years until the plant closed in 1998. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a devout Christian and loved being surrounded by nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hill is survived by his wife: Castellow Mary Hill; two children: John Charles Hill, Jr. and Beverly Diane Hill both of Hendersonville; four step children: William Roy Neal, Joseph Richard Neal, Cathy Diannia Riley, and Iris Deborah Davis all of Hendersonville; two brothers: Grady Hill of Canton and Eddie Hill of Hendersonville; three sisters: Mary Helen Justice of Rutherfordton, Janice Goodyear Deming of New Mexico, and Linda Stepp of Hendersonville; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will on Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 at Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel at 11:00am with the, Pastor Sherman Waters, Rev. Lawrence Riley and Rev. Michael Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service on Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
